The ICTF
The ICTF was formed in 2004 by Instructors who wished to establish a non-political Ch’ang-Hon TaeKwon-Do Federation that followed closely the encyclopaedia of TaeKwon-Do as produced by the late General Choi. Following that aim, the ICTF has member organisations in many countries around the world, with a steadily growing membership.
The ICTF is headed by Master Cariati 8th Dan ICTF president. Master Cariati travelled extensively with the Founder of Taekwon-Do, Gen Choi Hong Hi, and teaches technical seminars all around the world.
Vice president is Master Craig Stanley 8th Dan. Master stanley organized, funded and participated in the creation of the Legacy series of instructional products overseen by Genera Choi.
The ICTF in the UK
The ICTF is a recent addition in the UK. At present there are only a handful of clubs affiliated, the main ones being Lone Wolf Taekwondo and NTX schools based in Leeds. Both came from similar backgrounds unhappy and let down by their instructors/associations here in the UK, both wanting to pursue the art of Taekwon-Do, learn from masters with direct lineage to General Choi and train/compete with like minded people without the politics that we have here in the UK.
Mr Ford has travelled to Canda and spent time training with Master Cariati in Toronto and Master Stanley in Edmonton, attended Master Cariati's seminars here in the UK and also competed in the ICTF provinsial championships in Edmonton 2010. Mr Ford was promoted to 6th Dan by Master Cariati in November 2010 on his visit to the UK.
Both Mr Ford and the instructors from NTX schools are working to build the ICTF here in the UK with the same goals as the world ICTF. To treat everyone fairly and offer quality events and training.
This year we have already had a tournament in Leeds in March, Mr Ford taught a patterns seminar for Lone wolf Taekwondo and NTX students in April. The senior Black Belts meet once a month for intensive training which we are hoping to increase as more members join the ICTF UK.
